Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, the established business models need to be reevaluated, requiring a driving force for industry transformation. The purpose of this paper is to assess the business models used by online food services for delivery. Likewise, the methodology enforces survey-descriptive quantitative research, addressing the general problem, descriptive research hypotheses and research instruments, categorizing as open-ended questions, performing its construction and validity checks by experts and statisticians, checking the reliability of the instrument used, and performing descriptive statistical analysis. In terms of data collection, it resorts to secondary data; the survey method was done face-to-face. For data analysis, the sample size and populations in the study were the selected 100 online food businesses in Balanga City, with or without physical stores, and in management positions, with consent on data gathering from the Municipality of Balanga-City License, Permit, and Franchising Office.&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>Moreover, the conclusion of the study is expected to provide useful insights into the current issues by online food businesses, enabling them to stay competitive in the marketplace. The inputs will serve as a vital resource for online food businesses. The implications of this study, particularly for small and medium-sized firms (SMEs), are helpful as a point of reference for maintaining business. With the aim to continue the provision of quality education, numerous educational institutions preferred the online delivery mode. Apart from online learning, most public schools, particularly those in rural areas, use modular learning modalities. One of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals is to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” learners. However, studies revealed that this intervention showed that there is a decline in the quality of education meant for students. The lack of financial capability of students from rural areas challenges this goal of providing quality education. To address this gap, the researcher of the current study examined the current financial status of students of two subjects in the Senior High School K-12 Program: Inquiries, Investigations, and Immersion (I3) and Practical Research I. E-policing project includes e-Blotter or Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS), Case Information Database Management System (CIDMS), e-Subpoena System, e-Rogues Gallery and e-Warrant System. This research employed mixed methods design for gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research and methodologies in a single study. For the quantitative part, 65 personnel assigned to the components of the e-policing project were involved. Meanwhile, the 15 participants for the qualitative portion of the study were chosen from the respondents. The findings of the study revealed that the level of implementation of the e-policing project is “Fully Implemented”. However, results of qualitative investigations revealed the following challenges in the implementation of e-policing project: slow internet connection, untrained personnel in e-policing, bogging down of the system, and inaccessibility due to the volume of users. The study concludes that the widespread adoption of e-policing system underscores the need for skills and trainings in the delivery quality services for public safety and law enforcement agencies effectiveness. However, privacy and security issues must be carefully taken into account to make sure that these technologies are used in a way that fosters citizen confidence and openness. Additionally, it suggests the necessity of providing ongoing training to police personnel involved in e-policing to keep them updated. The education sector is one of the hardest hits by the pandemic. It has been emphasized that the adverse effects of the pandemic have similarly impacted the education sector worldwide. </em><em>Resilience has been a crucial factor in facing such adversity as resilience is the ability to bounce back from stressful situations. Similar to resiliency, self-efficacy is situation-dependent and vital in dealing with adversities as self-efficacy has been one’s ability to achieve under certain conditions. Furthermore, personality may affect both resilience and self-efficacy as inherent traits may affect one’s ability to cope with challenges. The present study investigated the role of personality in fostering academic resilience, and the role of academic self-efficacy between the relationship. The three variables were contextualized in the academic setting during the pandemic. The particular interest of the study is students from disadvantaged background due to prominent disparity between those who can and cannot afford the educational transition posed by the pandemic. Using regression and mediation analysis, the results revealed that both personality and academic self-efficacy have significant effect on academic resilience. Academic self-efficacy mediated the relationship between personality and academic resilience; therefore, personality directly and indirectly related to academic resilience through academic self-efficacy. The study recommends to develop and establish a program that will foster specific personality traits, such as openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.</em></p> Shekinah C. The Department of Education, with its adoption of the Basic Education Research Agenda (DepEd Order No. 39, s. 2016) emphasizes the role of the teachers to generate new knowledge, focus on relevant education issues, and maximize available resources for research. The study aims to assess the research capabilities of the 44 teachers of the SDO Balanga City in the following areas: basics of research, research proposal writing, conducting the research proper, use of statistical tools analysis and interpretation of data, formulating conclusion and recommendation, research report writing, thesis advising, and paneling in thesis oral examination. The study follows the quantitative research method, specifically descriptive evaluative research. This design is to carefully appraise the worthiness of the current study. Overall, the teachers have very good research capabilities.&nbsp; They believed, in general, they have working research knowledge, which makes them confident in writing and teaching research. On the other hand, the teachers manifested the need for training on thesis advising having the lowest rating, which is only indicated as “good”, followed using statistical software. This qualitative research employed face-to- face unstructured interviews as the primary data-gathering method as well as fieldwork that involved direct engagement with MTB-MLE teachers in their teaching environments, including classroom observations. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the collected data, enabling the identification of core themes that came up from the participants' responses. In the entirety of the data collection period, strict adherence to ethical principles such as justice, beneficence, and respect for participants were observed. It was revealed that only one MTB-MLE teacher teaching Ayta Magbukun is from the Ayta community and non-Ayta teachers struggle to teach Ayta Magbukun due to a lack of skills and knowledge. There is also a lack of training for teachers on the IPEd curriculum as well as limited learning materials to aid the teaching of Ayta Magbukun. Along with this change of curriculum is the supplemental two years (Grade 11 and Grade 11) to the former 11-year basic education system in the country. One of the academic strands in the K-12 curriculum is the Humanities and Social Sciences which includes subjects that require service-learning immersion activities that promote transformative learning. In recent years, transformative learning has been utilized by researchers in explaining adult learning. Transformative learning has been regarded as a "shift" in the traditional understanding of thoughts, feelings, and actions, which principles are founded by the early studies of Mezirow (1978, 1979).. In the service-learning context, the transformative learning model also explains how reflection and meaningful dialogues can facilitate more socially responsible community actions among students. However, service-learning educators have recently raised concerns about the need for more empirically driven research studies to continuously substantiate both the theory and the value of applying service-learning to K-12 and higher education. Furthermore, studies show that the adolescent population has been less commonly studied for transformative learning. Thus, using a qualitative lens, the researchers took deeper insights into the impact of service-learning immersion as culminating activities for a senior high school subject (Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship) on the perspective transformation of students. Through a case study research design, the experiences of two kindergarten teachers were analyzed using the lenses of Pedagogical Content Knowledge and Elements of Scientific Explanation. Kindergarten teachers’ knowledge of orientation highlights the use of curriculum guides and the application of content knowledge and pedagogy learned from bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. Further analysis of class observations and students output led to the emergence of five thematic strands: 1) Teachers’ questions provide leading clues and are mostly answered in chorus by the students; 2) Students are active during activities and open questions but become passive receivers of information during explanation phase of the lesson; 3) The flow of inquiry-based instruction fulfils only students “claim” and “evidence” and was seldom extended to “reasoning” level; 4) Guidance of teachers through constant questioning helps students as a group provide scientific explanation that can reach reasoning level and; 5) The students are encouraged to share the result of their work in class.</em></p> Maria Cecilia M. Twenty-two respondents were selected using</em> <em>criteria sampling technique. The physical properties of the river in terms of color, temperature,</em> <em>turbidity and odor, chemical properties like pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Suspended</em> <em>Solids (TSS), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and sediments like lead, chromium and</em> <em>cadmium and microbiological property in terms of E.coli were evaluated. Unstructured interview</em> <em>was conducted to determine the past and present condition of the river. The water samples were</em> <em>taken from 3 water point locations (WPL) which revealed that all WPLs have standard color and</em> <em>temperature. However, WPL 1 has high turbidity and greasy oily odor while WPL 2 and 3 have</em> <em>normal turbidity and no odor. All WPLs have increasing ph and standard DO, BDO and</em> <em>sediment contents. The TDS level of WPL 1 is unacceptable while it exceeded the maximum</em> <em>TSS value. WPLs 2 and 3 have TDS and TSS value which are within the standard limit and has</em> <em>no E.coli. Also, it has experienced dramatic physical change, decreased in aquatic fauna and</em> <em>increased in number of family settling around its banks. It revealed the challenges encountered by teachers, such as their insufficient knowledge and experience in research, difficulties in guiding students through research paper writing due to limited resources, and the necessity for online learning resources.</em></p> <p><em>Instructional strategies employed by teachers primarily involved the use of textbooks and modules, complemented by online resources, presentations, and gadgets for teaching purposes. Most teachers believed these strategies to be appropriate, enhancing student interest and learning.</em></p> <p><em>Teachers identified the need for a wider variety of sample research materials, detailed procedures for research, video lessons, and discussions as essential components in teaching Practical Research 1. In education, writing is an essential macro skill that an individual must possess or learn and has been transformed by modern learning modalities. Thus, this research paper highlighted the roles of auto-correction tools on the students' writing abilities affecting the variation of their actual English compositions in terms of frequency of errors in vocabulary, in syntax, and in mechanics of writing. Employing a concurrent triangulation mixed method research design, quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed individually and then combined during interpretation. Results reveal that 44% of respondents scored within the "Marginal" range, while the lowest percentages, 28%, fell into the "Satisfactory" and "Poor" categories. With a cumulative mean score of 17.22, the results reflect an average proficiency level in terms of vocabulary, syntax, and writing mechanics. These numerical data also indicates that students over-rely on auto-correction tools, denoting deficiencies in essential writing skills and inaccuracy in their handwritten compositions implying that the students lack mastery in vocabulary, syntax, and mechanics of writing that is expected in their level. However, these tools also offer valuable corrective feedback for vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. Hence, it is recommended that to enhance writing proficiency while harnessing these tools, targeted instruction and exercises are recommended to ensure students develop mastery in vocabulary, syntax, and mechanics.</em></p> Avigail T. This study employed a Design-Based Research (DBR) design. In the preliminary data, the researcher surveyed 7 experienced public junior high school chemistry teachers. Analysis of the current practices in teaching Chemistry shows that most of the Grade-10 Science teachers in the selected schools are female and were trained in Chemistry teaching.The first prototype of materials designed was appraised by 2 college instructors, one master teacher in science, and a professional teacher with a specialization in Chemistry teaching. The feedback from the experts was used to redesign and refine the materials producing the second-level prototype which was tried out by two experienced teachers with their selected students. Teacher interviews in the implementation of the instructional materials found that (i) the instructional material complies with the content standards of the DepEd Curriculum Guide for the selected topics, (ii) the selected topics in Chemistry specifically in the areas of Additional Activity, Motivation, and Investigative Practical Work, (iii) it guides the teacher to be a facilitator of the lesson and not the sole producer of information, (iv) it guides the student to produce efficient scientific explanation by guiding them to provide claim, evidence, and reasoning, (v) the PhET simulation serve as readily available alternative for laboratory equipment. Language learning has significant key variables that effectively aids the students to learn easier. When language learners listen to a language, multiple challenges come up. With this the researchers suggested the Reading while Listening approach in order to improve the students listening comprehension and vocabulary retention. This study used the quantitative method of research among the Grade 10 students enrolled in Pagalanggang National High School. Under the quantitative research, the proponents of this study employed experimental research design since the researcher will measure how reading while listening can influence the improvement of listening comprehension and vocabulary retention of students.<br>In this case, the proponents of this study utilized researchers-made instrument wherein the researcher designed six (6) sets of semi-detailed lesson plan. All lesson plans were all based on K-12 English Curriculum. Also, pretest and posttest were constructed by the Researchers aligned with the semi-detailed lesson plan. Two groups from Grade 10 students’ results were compared: (1) using the Reading while Listening approach, and the other (2) using the Traditional Approach where the teacher will be the one who reads in front of the class. As a result, RWL has a significant impact on the performance of the students in terms of listening comprehension. The Mean Percentage Score of the experimental group jumped from 40.33 to 75.2, unlike the control group’s MPS from 42.77 to 62.67, which obviously shows the gap between the two.</p> Princess T. Seven objectives guided the research, including profiling respondents based on age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and designation; assessing WLB and its four elements; understanding respondents' definitions of work- life balance; exploring feelings associated with achieving WLB; identifying strategies for performing multiple roles;and examining significant differences in WLB based on profiles.</em></p> <p><em>The research utilized a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design and purposive sampling, targeting middle-level managers and teachers in four selected SUCs in Region III. The triangulation of quantitative and qualitative data aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of work-life balance.</em></p> <p><em>Findings reveal a diverse profile of respondents, with the majority being middle-aged, female, married, holding MA/MS degrees, and designated as program heads/chairs/coordinators. The overall WLB is characterized as borderline, with elements like family, self, work, and personal satisfaction receiving a neutral level of priority. Respondents define WLB as achieving equilibrium through time management, equal prioritization, and satisfaction in both work and personal life.</em></p> <p><em>The study concludes that participants often experience stress and guilt while striving for WLB, employing Smart Planning through proper time management, prioritization, and task delegation. Quantitative correlation is used as the methodology to determine the significant relationship between 21st century and competency-based- teaching readiness and the significant difference in Competency-Based Teaching Readiness of Pre-service Teachers when grouped according to their field and academic performance in professional education. The study presents whether Competency- Based Teaching Readiness is influenced depending on the participant's field of specialization and academic performance. One of the findings showed that there is a highly significant and positive relationship between 21st Century Philippine Professional Standards’ skills and Competency-Based Teaching Readiness. There is a Direct proportion of results as the higher the competency, the more equipped the pre-service teachers pinpointed. For the recommendation, the researchers formulated and drafted an interactive event that would help the pre-service teachers broaden their perspective on the importance of competency and acquiring the necessary skills in teaching. This qualitative-descriptive study included a complete enumeration of the Grade 12 Technical-Vocational- Livelihood (TVL) students who voluntarily participated in this qualitative investigation (n = 58) by responding to an open-ended questionnaire. Results of the open-ended questionnaire decipher the influence of gamification on student’s level of engagement and the barriers encountered upon its inclusion. The study utilized Braun and Clarke's Thematic Analysis strategy, which was aided by a computer-assisted qualitative analysis, MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022. The study revealed two emerging themes that described the influence of gamification in the students' virtual ecology, namely: (1) the effects of the integration of gamified instruction on students’ engagement; and (2) students' problems in using gamified instruction. The Spanish language, which is the fourth most spoken language in the world, is a popular foreign language for students to learn. However, studies have demonstrated that learning Spanish offers significant struggles to learners from varied backgrounds and that there is a need to identify these individual challenges in order to improve the teaching and learning of Spanish. Thus, this study highlighted the challenges that Filipino students faced in learning Spanish and proposed potential solutions to overcome those difficulties and limitations. The researchers utilized the qualitative research method, specifically the descriptive phenomenological type, and used thematic analysis to analyze the data gathered from 10 participants who are learning Basic and Advanced Spanish as a foreign language. This study has six participants, from second- to fourth-year level students from the College of Education majoring in Filipino. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling method since the study aimed to acquire data that describes the lived experiences of the research participants. The data were gathered through semi-structured interview questions that allowed the researchers to further ask open-ended questions that could help them understand the insights and perspectives of the participants. The study was limited only to the second- to fourth-year students present in the college of education major in the Filipino academic year 2022-2023.<br>The themes that come out after gathering the data are the following: the time management, learned essential and applicable knowledge, technical and technological, and utilized time management as a strategy. In the acquired knowledge that the participant acquired during blended learning, here are the emerging themes: time management, independent learners, and learning to collaborate. Given the summary of the findings from the transcription of the interview, the recommendations in that form are the following: (1) Students' goals, learning styles, expectations, and incentives should all be considered.
