THE EFFECT OF CHILDREN (Ocimum sanctum) LEAF EXTRACT ON BACTERIA GROWTH Staphylococcus aureus
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocinum sanctum) terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus serta konsentrasi optimalekstrak daun kemangi (Ocinum sanctum) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus.
Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan 4 kali ulangan yang terdiri dari kontrol negative (aquades), kontrol positif (Amoxicillin), Ekstrak 20%, 40% dan 60%.
Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocinum sanctum) memiliki pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Konsentrasi optimal ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocinum sanctum) dalam meghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus yaitu pada konsentrasi 40% dengan kategori daya hambat bakteri “kuat”.
