Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Education and Culture implements a rigorous peer-review process to uphold the publication of high-quality, impactful research. Each manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a comprehensive evaluation by the editorial team and external reviewers. This process is designed to maintain the academic integrity and scholarly standards of the journal.

Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial team to determine their alignment with the focus and scope of the Journal of Education and Culture. During this stage, the manuscript is evaluated for overall quality, clarity, and compliance with the journal’s submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these fundamental criteria are promptly rejected without proceeding to external review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are forwarded to at least two expert reviewers for a double-blind peer review. This approach ensures that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous, facilitating an impartial evaluation process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant subject area.

Review Timeline

Standard Review Time. Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within 2–3 weeks from the date of assignment.

Third Reviewer Appointment. In instances where the assessments of the initial reviewers significantly diverge, a third reviewer may be appointed to provide an additional evaluation.

Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers utilize a standardized manuscript evaluation form to assess submissions based on several criteria:

  • The relevance and originality of the research.
  • The rigor of the methodology and analysis.
  • The clarity and coherence of the presentation.
  • The contribution of the findings to the fields of education and culture.

Reviewers are required to treat all manuscript content as confidential and must not use or disclose any information obtained during the review process.

Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding each manuscript is made by the editorial team, guided by the feedback provided by the reviewers. Based on these evaluations, possible outcomes include:

Accept without revisions. The manuscript is deemed ready for publication in its current form.

Accept with minor revisions. The manuscript requires minor modifications that do not necessitate further review.

Accept with major revisions. Substantial changes are needed, and the revised manuscript will undergo a second round of review.

Reject. The manuscript is determined to be unsuitable for publication in the journal.

Authors are notified of the editorial decision along with detailed feedback from the reviewers. Authors of accepted manuscripts must revise their submissions following the comments provided by both reviewers and editors before proceeding to the final stages of publication.

This transparent and rigorous review process allows the Journal of Education and Culture to publish research that meets high academic standards, thereby making significant contributions to the fields of education and culture.
